Jerina Mansion was built as a home first, and that is still the thing people notice when they arrive. It does not feel like a venue. There is no function room, no carpet, no stack of banquet chairs in a corridor. It is a private house in the hills above Tirana that we hand over to you for the day, the weekend, or the week.
That suits some occasions beautifully and suits others badly, so it is worth being clear about what works here.
What people actually book us for
- Hen parties and bachelorette weekends — the most common booking we take. A group takes the whole house, uses the pool by day and the firepit at night, and nobody has to book a taxi home.
- Milestone birthdays — 30th, 40th, 50th. Usually dinner outdoors, usually the family staying over.
- Surprise events — proposals, anniversary parties, birthday surprises. A private house is much easier to keep secret than a restaurant.
- Retreats — yoga, wellness and small company offsites. Quiet, self-contained, and far enough from the city to keep people focused.
- Family reunions and gatherings — often three generations at once, which is where having both a pool and a shallow end matters.
- Weddings and gender reveals — ceremonies on the lawn or by the pool, dinner outdoors, dancing after dark.
What the space is like
The villa sits on a hillside outside the city, which means two useful things: the view is uninterrupted, and there are no neighbours close enough to mind music. Guests move between the pool terrace, the lawn, the firepit and the interior over the course of an evening rather than sitting in one room.
Most celebrations here run from late afternoon into the night. The light over the hills at sunset does a lot of work that no decorator could match.
Numbers
We generally host between 25 and 80 guests for an event. Below that the house feels generous; above it, the outdoor areas start to dictate the format. For overnight groups the limit is 16 across six bedrooms, which is usually the more relevant number for a hen weekend or a family gathering.
Getting ready
There is a dedicated makeup room inside the mansion, which matters more than it sounds for weddings and hen parties — the group can get ready together in one place rather than scattering across bathrooms. The pergola area outside has its own two bathrooms, a changing room and an outdoor shower, which keeps guests out of the house during the day.
Food and drink
Catering is arranged through us rather than brought in cold. Depending on the occasion we put together a served menu, a buffet, or a grill set up outside — the last of these is the most popular in summer, because it keeps people outdoors and moving.
We also build a drinks package around the event, from a cocktail reception through to the bar for the rest of the night. Dietary requirements are straightforward if we know in advance.
Staying the night
This is the part most venues cannot offer. The villa has six bedrooms and sleeps up to 16, so the core group can simply go to bed where the party was. Nobody drives. Breakfast the next morning by the pool tends to be the part people remember.
Getting your guests here
The villa is a short drive from central Tirana and around forty minutes from Tirana International Airport. For events we usually arrange a van to shuttle guests up from the city and back at the end of the night, which removes the taxi problem entirely.
How to plan one
Send us the date, a rough guest count and what kind of occasion you have in mind, and we will come back with a written proposal covering the villa, catering, drinks and transport as a single quote. Site visits are welcome and we would encourage one — the hillside is difficult to judge from photographs.
