Booking accommodation for a group in Tirana usually means one of two compromises: a block of hotel rooms where everyone disperses at the end of the evening, or an apartment that technically sleeps eight but has one bathroom and nowhere to sit together.
Renting a whole villa solves a problem that is less about beds than about space to be together. Here is what to think about when you are booking for a group near Tirana.
Count the shared space, not just the beds
The number that matters for a group is not how many people can sleep in the property — it is how many can sit down comfortably at once. A group of eight needs somewhere all eight can eat, and somewhere all eight can end up at midnight without anyone perching on a windowsill.

Check who actually gets a private bathroom
Group listings often quote a headline capacity that assumes people are sharing in ways they would not choose. Ask how the rooms are actually configured before you book, particularly if the group is couples rather than friends. Our six bedrooms each have their own bathroom, so nobody queues for a shower in the morning — and there are two more bathrooms outside at the pergola, with a changing room and an outdoor shower, so people coming out of the pool are not walking through the house.
Think about the location trade-off
Staying in central Tirana puts you next to the bars and restaurants but also next to the traffic and the noise. Staying properly out in the countryside is quiet but turns every dinner into a logistics exercise.
The hills just above the city are the middle option: you are a short drive from Blloku, but you wake up to birds and a view over the valley. For groups staying three to five nights — which is the typical length here — that balance tends to work better than either extreme.
Sort out transport before you arrive
This is the thing groups most often leave until too late. Eight people and luggage is two taxis, and Albanian taxi apps are less reliable than you are used to. Arrange airport transfers and any day trips in advance. We organise a van and driver for guests, which for a group is usually cheaper than the alternative and considerably less irritating.
Ask what happens about food
Self-catering for a large group on holiday is a job somebody has to do. It is worth asking whether the property can arrange breakfast, a grill night, or a cooked dinner. We can, and most groups use it for at least a couple of the nights — it turns the awkward what-are-we-doing-about-dinner conversation into somebody else’s problem.
