Getting an extended family into one place is harder than it sounds. People arrive from different countries on different days, the ages run from two to eighty, and somebody always ends up in a hotel down the road feeling slightly excluded.

A private villa fixes most of that, and family gatherings — reunions, big birthdays, anniversaries — are one of the main reasons people book Jerina Mansion.

Everybody under one roof

The villa has six bedrooms and six bathrooms and sleeps up to 16 with portable beds, so a family that would otherwise be split across a hotel corridor stays together. That matters more than it sounds for a reunion: the conversations that people came for tend to happen in the kitchen at eleven at night, not during the scheduled dinner.

It works across generations

This is the practical test a lot of holiday properties fail. Grandparents need somewhere shaded and comfortable to sit. Small children need water they can stand up in. Teenagers need to be able to disappear. Everyone else needs a table big enough to eat at.

The infinity pool has a shallow section for younger children and sunbeds set into the water, so the adults can be in the pool and still be supervising. There is a cinema room for the point in the afternoon when the children have had enough sun, two separate living rooms so different generations can spread out, and a firepit that takes the whole family in the evening. Pets are welcome too, which matters more than people expect when the whole family travels.

Milestone birthdays

A 40th, 50th or 60th tends to sit awkwardly between a party and a holiday. Restaurants are too formal and end too early; a house party at home means the person whose birthday it is spends the night refilling glasses.

Here the birthday runs as long as it wants. We handle the food and drinks, the group stays over, and breakfast the next morning by the pool becomes part of the celebration rather than the clean-up.

Surprises

We take a steady number of surprise bookings — a partner organising a significant birthday, a family flying in without telling someone, a proposal built into a weekend away.

A private house is far easier to keep quiet than a restaurant. There is no booking name for someone to spot and no venue to give the game away. If you are planning a surprise, say so when you enquire and we will keep all confirmations to the organiser only, and work out arrival timings so the person concerned sees nothing before they should.

Food for a family group

Cooking for fifteen relatives is not a holiday for whoever ends up doing it. We cater as much or as little as the family wants — breakfast every morning, one big grill night, or every meal. Grill nights are the usual choice for reunions because they run long and nobody has to sit in an assigned seat.

Getting everybody here

Families rarely arrive together. We arrange airport transfers per flight rather than as a single pickup, so nobody sits in arrivals for three hours waiting for cousins. Tirana International is around forty minutes from the villa.

Planning one

Send us your dates, how many adults and children, and whether there is an occasion attached. We will come back with a single quote covering the house, catering and transfers.
